Pizza isn’t usually the first food that comes to mind when camping, but making campfire pizza in a pie iron? Magical! It’s a fun, easy way to enjoy everyone’s favorite meal under the stars. It’s simple to make, with easy ingredients and almost no cleanup!

Campfire Pizza combines the crispy, cheesy goodness of pizza with the unique experience of campfire cooking. Both kids and adults get a kick out of building their own pizza sandwiches, and the result? A warm, toasty delight you can customize however you want.
So why try campfire pizza? Picture all the flavors of a classic pizza—savory sauce, melty cheese, and your favorite toppings—sandwiched between golden, buttery slices of bread.
Like my Pudgy Pies, cooking campfire pizza in a pie iron over an open flame gives it an unbeatable, crunch. It’s a hands-on, portable meal that makes any camping trip or backyard bonfire feel special.
This campfire pizza is a flavorful twist on a classic, made even better by the smoky flavor of the fire. Perfect for family campouts or backyard fire pits, it’s a meal that’s as enjoyable to make as it is to eat!

Tips
Make a Pizza Bar: Set out an array of pizza toppings so family and friends can customize their campfire pizzas.
Try a New Sauce: Store-bought marinara, homemade pizza sauce, or for a new twist, make a white pizza with garlic parmesan sauce.
Go Sweet Instead of Savory: Instead of pepperoni and olives, try peanut butter and chocolate chips for a sweet treat.
Round vs. Square Pie Irons: I prefer the round pie irons over square. They are slightly smaller, which works well with almost any bread and forms a nice, crisp seal.
