This peach salad features a memorable sweet and savory honey dijon vinaigrette. This summer salad is perfect to serve as an appetizer or a side and comes together quickly. The honey and mustard dressing is wonderfully tangy and sweet and really is a must have!
It’s officially peach season in Missouri, and I am clearly so excited! Growing up, I remember hoping and praying for peaches on Grandma and Grandpa’s farm. They didn’t fruit each year, but when they did, we didn’t.waste.one.
I love taking the girls to pick peaches and I look forward to sharing some of my favorite childhood flavors with them. I just might even attempt Aunt Mildred’s jam. In Missouri, we truly eat seasonally. I embrace each day we have fresh, flavorful fruit.
Much like my Seven Layer Salad, this is a classic, timeless salad that can be served any time of year!
Why You’ll Love it
Honey dijon vinaigrette is a classic, timeless salad dressing that can be used to marinate chicken, as a dip for vegetables and crusty bread or as a versatile salad dressing. It works really well with all lettuce, including endive.
Honey dijon vinaigrette is one of my go-to’s, although I don’t care much for honey or mustard when they are standing alone. However, when paired together they create a sweet and slightly tangy dressing that makes me fall in love with salad all over again.
This week I’m eating peach salad with honey dijon vinaigrette. I love tossing it with goat cheese and candied pecans and topping it with ripe peaches for a light, summery flavor.
Honey Dijon Vinaigrette Dressing Ingredients
- Balsamic Vinegar – Offers a delicious tang!
- Olive Oil – Good quality extra virgin olive oil adds flavor and coats lettuce perfectly.
- Dijon Mustard – Dijon mustard is an emulsifier, bonding oil and vinegar together while adding a little spice.
- Honey – Sweetens this delicious dressing and makes it perfect for pairing with your favorite salads with fruits.
Peach Salad Ingredients
- Your Favorite Greens – This vinaigrette recipe pairs especially well with leafy lettuces like baby spinach, butter lettuce, and endive.
- Fresh Sliced Peaches – Truly, the fresher the better! That ripe juicy flavor adds so much to this simple salad!
- Goat Cheese Any cheese works, but creamy soft goat cheese is the perfect foil to the honey dijon in this case!
- Candied Pecans – You can make a simple candied pecan, but I also like to keep some on hand to throw into salads. Trader Joe’s makes a great candied pecan and you can find them here!
- Honey Dijon Vinaigrette – Don’t skip this homemade dressing, it’s the star of the show! I love a good shortcut when it saves time, but you’ll never regret adding a two-minute homemade dressing to your salad!
How to Make a Peach Salad
- Combine vinaigrette ingredients in a jar and shake until well combined.
- Toss greens, peaches, goat cheese and pecans with honey dijon vinaigrette!
How Long Does Homemade Honey Dijon Vinaigrette Last?
Once you have made the salad dressing, transfer it to an airtight jar or bottle and it will keep in the fridge for up to two weeks. Before using it, give it a shake as the ingredients may have separated.
A Classic Honey and Mustard Salad Dressing
This vinaigrette is the perfect mix of sweet and tangy and it’s the perfect accompaniment to this delicious summer salad. Honey and mustard work so well together and you’ll find this combination of flavors in lots of dishes. I love how quick and easy it is to add a real pop of flavor to your salads.

Tips
- Don’t dress your salad with vinaigrette until just before serving. If you add it too far ahead of time it can cause the greens to wilt and go soggy.
- The dressing has a fairly long shelf life, so make a double batch for an easy to grab dressing.
- It’s cheaper and healthier to make your own salad dressing. This vinaigrette contains no added salt or sugar and it requires just 4 ingredients to make it.

I loved the flavors! I substituted feta for goat cheese and I didnโt have Dijon mustard. It was a little too tart for my hubbie, but he said flavor was very good. I used spring
mix I had on hand for the greens and toasted the pecans with coconut oil amd sea salt. Thank you for this easy recipe!
Thanks Laura!
So glad you enjoyed it! Have a beautiful weekend.
